What type of air conditioner is right for your house?
There are three main types of air conditioners suitable for domestic application.

1. Portable air conditioning
2. Split System air conditioning
3. Ducted System air conditioning

Portable systems are typically suitable for one room and require no installation. Generally they are less energy efficient than a split or ducted system.

Split systems consist of a head unit (mounted inside the room) and a compressor/condenser that sits outside the building. Split systems come in a range of sizes and are suitable for large rooms.

Ducted systems are suitable to control the temperature of multiple rooms. The system is installed in the ceiling cavity, hidden from view. These systems cost more to install but do a fantastic job.

Choosing the right system is a breeze for any experienced air conditioning installer. Factors that will impact on the system and installation design are size of the building, ceiling height, number of windows.
